Julia is an accomplished healthcare professional with extensive experience in public health, healthcare leadership, and governance. Academically active, she is currently conducting research in the field of Public Health, with a particular interest in addressing inequalities within populations and promoting health improvement through physical activity, further advancing her expertise in the sector.
For the past three years, she has served as a dedicated committee member of the Royal College of Nursing’s (RCN) Public Health Forum, contributing to the advancement of professional practice and policy. Her career spans complex healthcare delivery, leadership, and management within secure settings across the UK. Recognised as an expert advisor in prison healthcare, she continues to provide strategic guidance on improving care standards within these environments.
At the national level, she has played a pivotal role in shaping professional practice, governance, and clinical service delivery across various organisations.
With extensive clinical experience, she has specialised in the management of emergency situations and resuscitation, primary care practice, and the assessment and treatment of individuals with long-term and enduring mental health conditions.
