  • 6 years’ experience as a community Occupational Therapist at Northumbria NHS Foundation Trust.
  • 3 years’ experience as a Senior Occupational Therapist at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Trust specialising in Orthopaedics.
  • 2 years’ experience as a rotational occupational therapist covering acute inpatient wards and stroke unit.

I chose to train as an occupational therapist, as I was drawn to the profession’s holistic values and the ability to work with people of all ages with various health and social care needs. I am committed to supporting people to achieve meaningful lives, by recognising their values and using occupation and adaptation to help them reach their goals.

I have a special interest in neurodegenerative conditions and the impact acquired brain injuries have on functional performance. As well as working in an adult social care setting, I also have personal experience of caring for someone with Alzheimer’s disease.

I recognise the importance of effective and timely care provision alongside symptom management when dealing with complex conditions and am passionate about advocating for this on behalf of the patients and families I work with.
