Veronica has been qualified as a Dietitian since 2012 and has extensive experience within the NHS in a variety of dietetic roles. She is an experienced Practitioner with strong clinical, operational and strategic leadership experience. Having worked at Team Leader level within the NHS, she has a detailed understanding of all clinical governance and competency requirements within hospital and community urgent settings. Veronica utilises her knowledge of dietetic standards, compliance and governance in her role an Independent Expert Witness.
Veronica's career has spanned a diverse range of clinical settings, including critical care, care of the elderly, community care, hepatobiliary, stroke, oncology and weight management services. Furthermore, Veronica has led and has been involved in the coordination of multidisciplinary teams. This experience enables Veronica to provide authoritative insight on dietician proficiency levels regarding a wide range of dietetic issues.
In her role as an NHS Band 7 Dietitian, Veronica was responsible for providing special dietetic care to a vast range of individuals with specialist needs. Additionally, she developed and led on the implementation of a specialist tier 3 weight management service in London, supporting patients that required weight loss medications and other therapeutic interventions.
Veronica also has extensive experience in caring for bariatric patients undergoing bariatric surgery, in both the pre- and post-surgical periods. Veronica currently provides ongoing specialist dietetic support to bariatric patients undergoing weight loss treatments, ensuring the close monitoring of diagnostic blood results and acting accordingly through the implementation of supplements where required.

I have dedicated the past 14 years of my life to helping people to achieve better health, confidence, and quality of life through nutrition.

Early on in my career, I helped people with all kinds of health conditions, mostly people who needed to gain weight through nutrition support, texture modified diets and enteral and parenteral nutrition. Around seven years ago, I started working with people living with obesity and obesity related chronic diseases.

I have worked with world class bariatric teams both within the NHS and private sector. I am currently the dietetic representative in the British Obesity & Metabolic Specialist Society (BOMSS), working closely with the council to improve patient care at a national level.
