Jane Halpin

I am an experienced Advanced Nurse Practitioner with over 30 years of clinical practice and currently work in acute medicine.

I assess and manage patients presenting with a wide range of complex and often serious medical conditions, make autonomous clinical decisions, and contribute to safe, effective patient care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

My earlier career has given me extensive specialist experience in renal medicine, including hypertension management, dialysis access insertion, training doctors in clinical procedures, and presenting my professional experience at national conferences, all of which support an objective, evidence-based and professional approach to medico-legal and expert witness work.

I was the first non-medic in the UK to insert both haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis access. I was invited to present at a national conference, the British Renal Symposium, in 2012 on how I developed this new service. I have also delivered presentations at a number of smaller study days across the UK, reflecting my commitment to innovation, education and the advancement of renal care.
